Algunas áreas de Houston se encuentran severamente afectadas por las lluvias acaecidas en las últimas horas, algunas zonas han recibido hasta 7 pulgadas de precipitaciones. El Servicio Nacional de Meteorología (NWS) emitió una vigilancia por inundaciones para toda la ciudad hasta las 4 pm.
El alcalde Sylvester Turner confirmó la cancelación del evento “Freedom Over Texas” por las condiciones que se encuentra el Eleanor Tinsley Park. Sin embargo, el espectáculo de fuegos artificiales sigue en pie.
